Veterinarians without Borders / Vétérinaires sans Frontières.

Help us support one of our veterinarians in a very worthy cause: Veterinarians without Borders/ Vétérinaires sans Frontières.

Our emergency clinician, Dr. Scarlett Magda, has submitted a proposal which is one of five finalists that has a chance to win $25,000 in the national 2011 Heska Inspiration in Action Contest.

By building healthy communities in some of the poorest developing countries, where people are struggling to recover from war and epidemic disease, the VWB/VSF program helps mitigate the conditions that lead to instability and that foster the spread of disease. In times of unstable climate, economy and politics, this creates a basis on which to build a more stable global community. Prize money from the contest would be used to support two ongoing projects in Laos and Uganda. Learn more at www.vwb-vsf.ca/english/index.shtml

Heska, a leading provider of veterinary diagnostic and specialty products, will award the grand prize winner $25,000 and the second place winner $5,000 to help bring inspired ideas to life.

"Supporting pets and livestock around the world will help create healthier and more sustainable global communities" says Dr. Magda.

Last year's winners have experienced increasing returns from the exposure and awareness this contest afforded them.
