Frequently Asked Questions
Are appointments required to see a specialist?
Yes, emergencies do not require an appointment, but specialists do.
What should I bring to my pet’s appointment?
Any current records or medication they are taking.
What is the payment policy at EEVC?
Payment is due at the time of services rendered. We need the full deposit amount stated on your estimate to move forward with treatment and/or at time of discharge. We will provide estimates prior to medical care so that you are fully informed and able to make financial arrangements if necessary.
We know that medical costs can be stressful, so we accept all of the following forms of payment: Cash, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, CareCredit, and Scratchpay. If you have any questions regarding our forms of payment options, please call the hospital at (631) 369-4513.
Can I visit my pet while they are hospitalized?
We do allow visitation if your pet is not overly anxious, and we can accommodate a visit without disrupting normal ICU operations. Please speak to the attending clinician before scheduling a visit to ensure it is in your pet's best interest.
How will my primary veterinarian know what treatments or follow-up care is necessary for my pet?
We automatically provide records to the primary care veterinarian listed on your pet’s account.
What is the wildlife policy at EEVC?
Please call Evelyn Alexander Wildlife for instructions on the care of hurt/injured wildlife. We cannot treat raccoons, bats, foxes, or otters as they are considered rabies vectors.
What should I do if I find a stray animal?
Contact animal control in your township for assistance with hurt or injured strays. For healthy strays reach out to your local animal shelter.
